A story woven through the past, revealed today
Hotel “Sigulda” was built in 1889, after the opening of the Riga – St Petersburg railway, when convenient transport links with Riga brought a surge of holidaymakers. The hotel, which belonged to the Sigulda manor, hosted guests from St Petersburg of Prince Nikolai Kropotkin (1872-1939), who developed Sigulda into a popular resort. Originally the hotel had 15 rooms, but their number has changed several times. After reconstruction in 1998, the historic hotel building resumed operation after a break of several years. In 2001 the new part of the hotel was opened, with rooms, seminar and conference halls and a sauna complex.

The hotel’s location is ideal for discovering the charming Latvian countryside. Sigulda Livonian Castle or the Sigulda bobsleigh and luge track are only a 10-minute walk away. The 43 rooms can accommodate 85 guests, while the conference halls and the leisure complex with saunas and a pool can host events for up to 100 people.
